TCD chose Flex Databases eTMF

At the end of 2020 TCD, an African-focused CRO with a full-service offering, signed a contract for eTMF implementation with Flex Databases.

We’ve asked Bianca Oelschig, Clinical Data Sciences Manager/Project Manager at TCD, a couple of questions about the upcoming partnership:

Why TCD decided to pick Flex Databases as a provider for eTMF?

After spending many months researching various TMF vendors we concluded that Flex Databases eTMF was a great fit for TCD. The software is well designed, user-friendly and extremely customizable to suit the needs of various clinical trials. The team from Flex Databases has been very efficient and helpful and we look forward to working with them going forward.

What do you expect to achieve with the implementation of Flex Databases?

We are looking forward to using Flex Databases eTMF module as it will allow for a completely paperless and remotely accessible TMF. This will result in all essential documents being available to be viewed by stakeholders all around the world, keeping all parties up to date on all aspects of the trial at all times.

A case rarely arrives once and stays static – new information keeps surfacing after the initial intake: a patient is hospitalized, a birth date gets corrected, a new reaction is reported, a concomitant medication comes to light. For safety teams processing cases from clinical trials, marketed-drug consumer reports, […]

Protocol Deviations Start Earlier Than You Think

Most sponsors associate protocol deviations with events that occur later in a clinical trial, like missed visits or incomplete documentation. In reality, one of the earliest and most consequential protocol deviations is happening during patient randomization. Randomization is often perceived as a simple operational step:patient enrolled, button clicked, treatment assigned. But under the pressure of […]

Why Long-Established eClinical Platforms Are Slowing Down Modern Clinical Trials

What Sponsors Should Really Look For When Choosing an eClinical Platform?  Today, every established vendor offers all kinds of system modules, document management capabilities, and a long list of compliance certifications.  On paper, they appear remarkably similar, making it increasingly difficult for sponsors and CROs to distinguish between solutions based on feature lists alone.  In reality, they couldn’t be more different.  Most enterprise eClinical platforms can […]
