WSG selected Flex Databases eTMF & CTMS to centralize and optimize study management

Earlier this summer, WSG – Westdeutsche Studiengruppe GmbH selected Flex Databases as a CTMS and eTMF provider. We’ve asked Michael Städele, Director, Business Development & Operations a couple of questions about the new partnership:

  • Why WSG decided to implement eTMF and Investigators & Sites Management modules? What was the starting point for digitalization?

Over the last years, we are facing an increasing number of trials, employees, and study sites. In addition, more of the work is decentralized, meaning that more people are working from different places other than the central office. We were looking for a tool that combines an electronic TMF which is accessible from everywhere with the functionalities of a CTMS to be able to manage study sites data etc. centrally.

  • Why did you select Flex Databases to be your software provider?

The functionalities of the Flex Databases software, the possibility to add other compatible modules (e.g. for budgeting) and the very professional presentation convinced us. During the presentations, we realized that Flex Databases exactly knows what the critical points in daily practice are and has a solution for these. Also, the pricing module is fair and transparent which is an important factor too.

What do you expect to achieve with the implementation of Flex Databases?

We expect to spare time and room when we do not have to print paper folders for every study and to be more effective because the whole project team has easier access to TMF. In addition, with the Sites & Management modules, we expect to facilitate keeping all the study up to date over all studies and get rid of some of the many excel files we are using now to track contact data etc.

However, as trials have become more data-saturated and […]
