Product Updates: Smarter Planning, Cleaner Data, and Seamless Integration Across Modules

We’re excited to share the latest enhancements across multiple Flex Databases modules, all designed to improve your efficiency, reduce duplication, and support better data consistency throughout your clinical operations.

CRA Activity Management: SDV Log Tracker

To improve source data verification (SDV) oversight, we’ve introduced a new SDV Log Tracker.

This tracker pulls data from Subject Tracking and Invoicing (ST&I), supporting fields such as:

  • Site Number
  • Activity Number
  • Subject Number
  • Visit Name (multi-select with semicolon-separated import support)
  • SDV Type (Full/Partial)
  • SDV Date
  • Reviewer
  • SDV Comments

Import is available via API or the Data Import tool.

Important: The tracker requires ST&I to be active and populated. The tracker data is also available in the Report Tool, so it can be used in Widgets & Dashboards

Introducing a smart Duplicates Search tool for Medical Institution (MI) entries, reducing the risk of inconsistent or duplicate data.

Key features:

  • New “Find Similar MI” button on the MI creation form
  • Uses a similarity algorithm based on fields like Full/Short Name, Institution Type, City, and Country
  • Editable Duplicates Dictionary for synonyms and regional naming variations (e.g. Köln = Cologne)

Common duplicates caught include:

  • Spelling variants (e.g. Johns vs. John Hopkins)
  • Word order and formatting changes
  • Umlauts and accents
  • Abbreviations and acronyms

Project Management: Task Planning Reuse

Save time during planning with our new “Copy from Another Project” button in Task Planning.

What’s new:

  • Select source project and country via a popup
  • Import tasks as non-budget items
  • Original durations and task dependencies preserved
  • Milestones are not copied

This enhancement boosts planning speed by reusing proven task structures from previous studies.

These updates bring better traceability, smarter automation, and cleaner data throughout your trial lifecycle. If you’d like help activating or using any of these features, please contact your account manager.

TMF Blinding: Removing the Complexity of Managing Blinded Studies

Blinded studies are critical for maintaining the integrity of clinical trials. But while the concept is straightforward, the operational reality is often anything but. For many clinical teams, managing blinding means dealing with: This creates a constant burden: Even with strict processes in place, a single misconfiguration can compromise the entire study. Risk-Based Monitoring (RBM) in Clinical Trials: A Comprehensive Guide to Modern Oversight

For decades, the clinical research industry operated under a manual, labor-intensive oversight model. The gold standard was 100% Source Data Verification (SDV) – a process where Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) traveled to sites to painstakingly cross-reference every data point in a Case Report Form against medical records. However, as trials have become more data-saturated and […]
