Flex Databases is a member of CRISI initiative

We always say that integration of the systems is one of the keys to success. That’s why we pay a lot of attention to API at Flex Databases.

Flex Databases has become a member of CRISI – The Clinical Research Interoperability Standards Initiative, developing a comprehensive library of standard APIs. We are proud to be a part of this initiative and impact a life-changing API standardization process.

The Clinical Research Interoperability Standards Initiative (CRISI) will develop a library of standard APIs,
consisting of data definitions and protocols, along with related validation packages and technical
documentation, to achieve the following high-level goals:

  • Eliminate the time and cost wasted on custom APIs in software deployments.
  • Enable clinical research software applications to exchange data and documents quickly,
    securely, reliably and easily.
  • Eliminate redundant and error-prone data entry and document uploads by site personnel,
thereby saving approximately 20% of a typical study coordinator’s time.
  • Where feasible, allow clinical research sites to use a single front-end application for all studies,
which would communicate with the sponsor/CRO’s back-end applications.

Protocol Deviations Start Earlier Than You Think

Most sponsors associate protocol deviations with events that occur later in a clinical trial, like missed visits or incomplete documentation. In reality, one of the earliest and most consequential protocol deviations is happening during patient randomization. Randomization is often perceived as a simple operational step:patient enrolled, button clicked, treatment assigned. But under the pressure of […]

Why Long-Established eClinical Platforms Are Slowing Down Modern Clinical Trials

What Sponsors Should Really Look For When Choosing an eClinical Platform?  Today, every established vendor offers all kinds of system modules, document management capabilities, and a long list of compliance certifications.  On paper, they appear remarkably similar, making it increasingly difficult for sponsors and CROs to distinguish between solutions based on feature lists alone.  In reality, they couldn’t be more different.  Most enterprise eClinical platforms can […]
