Flex Databases team is looking for a Technical Writer to join our team.

Applications for this position are now closed and no longer being reviewed.

We are driven by our high mission to make an impact in the Life Sciences industry. We provide flexible e-Clinical software systems for Clinical Research Organizations (CROs) and pharmaceutical companies.

We work globally with clients all over the world, with our own offices located in the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Turkey, and the US.

About the role

We’re looking for a Technical Writer who will own the creation and maintenance of high-quality documentation for our products.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Product Management, Product Development and Validation teams in a matrix environment. Since the clinical research field is highly regulated, your work will directly support compliance and help our users and auditors rely on clear, structured, and accurate product documentation.

This is not a “pure writing” role – we’re looking for someone with a technical mindset who is curious about systems, processes, and software behavior. Over time, this position offers the potential to grow into a System Analyst path.

What you’ll do

  • Create, write, and edit user manuals, guidelines, and instructions
  • Analyze software development project requirements to determine the type of documentation needed
  • Become an expert in Flex Databases software products and contribute to projects as required
  • Collaborate effectively across business functions, including SMEs within product development, support, user design, customer success, and others, to gather product and end-user knowledge
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new documentation tools and methods to improve documentation quality and efficiency
  • Contribute to the design, development, flow, and user experience of technical documentation and online learning
  • Establish, communicate, and maintain documentation standards
  • Ensure accuracy and version control of all documentation
  • Organize and write supporting materials such as FAQs, how-to guides, and online help
  • Gather usability feedback from customers, designers, and stakeholders
  • Contribute to internal knowledge base development

Technologies:

  • Jira
  • Confluence
  • Experience or enthusiasm to explore AI tools for improved productivity in documentation

What we’re looking for:

  • Hands-on technical writing and editing experience, ideally with IT software and systems
  • Excellent written English and attention to details
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn: a self-starter who requires minimal supervision and enjoys exploring the clinical trial industry and the products being supported
  • Knowledge of information gathering, planning, and organizing methods and principles
  • Strong understanding of document formatting and presentation techniques
  • Ability to document business processes and write detailed functional requirements
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Discretion and good judgment are required when handling sensitive and complex issues.

Nice to have

  • Experience in life sciences, healthcare, or clinical research
  • Understanding of validation and compliance requirements (GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, etc.)

Why join us

  • Fully remote & international team
  • Opportunity to work in a fast-growing company with impact on global clinical research
  • Growth path toward System Analyst career development
  • Supportive culture that values responsibility, flexibility, and quality
  • Annual leave (depends on contract type)
  • Bank holidays (depends on contract type)
  • Sick days fully paid by the company (depends on contract type)

How we work:

  • We care more about the things you do rather than your set working hours. We have flexible start hours from 8:00 to 11:00. It is important to participate in meetings with clients and (fixed) team meetings.
  • We value respect, transparency, proactivity, openness and positive approach. We do care about our team’s mental health and happiness. This is why we follow an open-door policy and accept constructive feedback from both sides.
  • We believe in teamwork with our clients and employees and build long-lasting trusted relationships.

Protocol Deviations Start Earlier Than You Think

Most sponsors associate protocol deviations with events that occur later in a clinical trial, like missed visits or incomplete documentation. In reality, one of the earliest and most consequential protocol deviations is happening during patient randomization. Randomization is often perceived as a simple operational step:patient enrolled, button clicked, treatment assigned. But under the pressure of […]

Why Long-Established eClinical Platforms Are Slowing Down Modern Clinical Trials

What Sponsors Should Really Look For When Choosing an eClinical Platform?  Today, every established vendor offers all kinds of system modules, document management capabilities, and a long list of compliance certifications.  On paper, they appear remarkably similar, making it increasingly difficult for sponsors and CROs to distinguish between solutions based on feature lists alone.  In reality, they couldn’t be more different.  Most enterprise eClinical platforms can […]
